Care & Maintenance Guide

Care & Maintenance Guide

To ensure your premium SeamlessHairLab hair extensions retain their luxurious texture, natural shine, and maximum longevity, we highly recommend following our professional salon care and maintenance protocol.

1. Daily Care Protocol

  • Gentle Detangling: Always use a professional wide-tooth comb or a dedicated extension loop brush. Start gently from the ends of the hair, gradually working your way up to the mid-lengths and roots. Avoid pulling or applying excessive force to protect the attachment points and natural hair bonds.

  • Avoid Over-Washing: Washing your extensions too frequently can strip away their natural moisture. We recommend washing your extensions periodically depending on your lifestyle, product buildup, and wear frequency.

  • Select the Right Products: Always opt for mild, professional salon-grade shampoos and conditioners that are 100% sulfate-free, silicone-free, and alcohol-free. Harsh chemical ingredients can dry out the cuticles and degrade the tape adhesive.

  • Smart Heat Styling: While our 100% human hair extensions can be curled, straightened, and styled with hot tools, limit daily high-heat exposure to prevent dryness or breakage. Always apply a high-quality heat protectant spray beforehand.

  • ⚠️ Critical Tape Rule: Never apply direct heat from flat irons or curling tongs closely to the tape adhesive area. High heat will melt or weaken the medical-grade adhesive bond, causing the extensions to slip or fail prematurely.

  • Environmental & Friction Care: Minimize exposing your hair to prolonged extreme heat, excessive chlorine/saltwater, or direct midday sunlight. Before going to sleep, secure your hair in a loose braid or ponytail and use a silk or satin pillowcase to drastically reduce friction and overnight tangling.

2. Washing & Conditioning Steps

  • Gentle Soaking: Prepare a basin or clean sink filled with lukewarm water. Mix in a capful of sulfate-free shampoo. Submerge the extensions gently and let them soak.

  • Delicate Cleansing: Gently smooth the shampoo through the strands using a strict downward motion from root to tip. Never rub, scrub, or twist the hair bundle vigorously, as this will friction-lock the cuticles and cause severe knotting.

  • Thorough Detangling: Run your fingers gently through the submerged strands to ensure the hair remains parallel and the cleansing solution is evenly distributed.

  • Pristine Rinsing: Rinse the hair thoroughly under clean, running lukewarm water until all traces of shampoo are completely gone and the water runs clear. Residual product can cause irritation and matting.

  • Blot Dry: Wrap the wet hair extensions gently in a soft microfiber towel and pat down to absorb the excess water. Do not wring, squeeze, or twist the hair.

3. Drying & Storage Standards

  • Natural Air Drying: Lay your hair extensions completely flat on a clean, dry towel or hang them carefully on an extension hanger in a well-ventilated, shaded area to air dry naturally. Avoid blasting them with high-temperature blow dryers or placing them under direct sunlight, which can cause cuticle damage.

  • Strategic Storage: When your extensions are uninstalled, brush them thoroughly to remove any tangles, then store them flat inside their original luxury box or a dedicated extension storage carrier bag. This keeps them clean, dust-free, and perfectly shaped for your next installation.

  • Zero Weight Pressure: Never place heavy objects on top of your stored hair extensions or subject them to unnecessary compression, as this can permanently alter their texture or warp the flat tape-in bases.
